Fraud Data Analytics course
It is a comprehensive training at the intersection of finance, technology and analytics, aimed at training specialists capable of detecting and preventing fraud in modern organizations. The course covers all key areas: from understanding fraudulent schemes and AML standards to business and system analysis, working with databases, programming languages (SQL and Python), as well as modern analytics and machine learning tools. Participants will master both theoretical foundations and practical skills, including process modeling, IT system architecture, building antifraud solutions, and working with Big Data. After completing the program, graduates will have a wide and sought-after set of competencies that allow them to confidently launch a career in the field of financial security, analytics and IT.

The main modules of the course
Module 1: Fraud and Money Laundering (Fraud / AML)
Participants will get acquainted with the structure of financial organizations, the regulatory environment of Kazakhstan and Central Asia, as well as operational processes in banks. The program covers key types of fraud and anti-fraud methods, including the use of modern anti-fraud systems such as Baraiq. A separate section is devoted to anti-money laundering (AML), international FATF standards and KYC procedures. The module will prepare participants for the role of Fraud Data Analyst in modern financial organizations.
Module 2: Business Analysis
This module develops the key data analysis and interpretation skills needed to make effective anti-fraud decisions. Participants will explore business analysis processes, methods for identifying and formalizing requirements, as well as modern approaches to problem solving, including Design Thinking and Lean Startup. Special attention is paid to modeling business processes using BPMN, UML and other tools. The module will prepare students for systematic work with data, processes and stakeholders within the framework of antifraud solutions.
Module 3: System analysis
In this module, students will learn the basics of system analysis, the role of an analyst in IT projects, and the lifecycle of software systems. Special attention is paid to modern development methodologies (Waterfall, Agile, hybrid approaches), as well as principles of architecture and system integration. Participants will get acquainted with key tools (Jira, Confluence, diagrams) and learn how to work with technical requirements (SRS). The module also includes practices for interacting with developers within the framework of Customer Development.
Module 4: Fundamentals of IT Development
In this module, participants will learn the fundamental principles of working with databases, study the architecture and design of relational systems, and master the SQL language for data processing and analysis. The module includes the practice of writing SQL queries of varying complexity, working with aggregations, subqueries, and window functions. In addition, students will gain basic Python programming skills, including working with collections, functions, modules, and web development with FastAPI. This is an ideal base for those who want to understand how modern IT systems work from the inside.
Module 5: Data Analytics
This module covers the full cycle of working with data, from engineering and pipeline construction to the use of analytical and machine methods to detect fraudulent transactions. Participants will learn the basics of working with cloud platforms (for example, AWS), master Python tools for data analysis and model building (Pandas, Scikit-learn, XGBoost) and get acquainted with modern Big Data approaches. The course covers both classical statistical methods and machine learning algorithms applicable to fraud analytics. This is a powerful start for analysts seeking to work at the intersection of data, technology, and security.
